I have a confession…it’s a dirty little secret. But I’m a clinomaniac (ie an excessive desire to stay in bed). Okay, I know I just totally diagnosed myself but I do LOVE staying in bed all day. But I do also love PJs as well. And pretty lingerie.
So now I’m confused – do I love my PJs or do I love staying in bed or do I love both? New blog post for the win!
I’ve teamed up with Superbalist to show off some of my favourite things from their lingerie and sleepwear section.
If you’re daring like me, and the thought of rocking your PJs outdoor stresses you out, here are some style tips on how to take your sleepwear into daywear and get that pyjamas trend, well… right:
- Balance is key
You need to aim for stylish luxe, not lazy loungewear. I get that messy is fun, but you don’t want to run errands looking like you’ve rolled out of bed? What if you run into a very cute guy? Karma is bitch like that. So stay away from cotton fabrics and rather opt for soft silks and shiny satin shirts – paired with a denim shirt or leather jacket – a definite sure win.
Tip: Finish your look off with heels or white sneakers ensuring your look is polished, classy and chic.
2. It’s all in the details
When choosing a satin shirt or set, remember, it’s all in the details – lacy finishes, side piping, an open neckline and loose sleeves.
Tip: Separate the pieces – the top with a jeans and the bottom with a white tank to really get the best out of your PJ set.
3. The right lingerie maketh the look
I love a slouchy white v-necks paired with great denims.
But I do feel, you can get really playful with what’s underneath. Lose the boring beige underwear and try these cute pairs the next time you’re keen to rock that white and denim ensemble:
And if you’re really daring: for that extra va va voom… I’m loving this set…
In case you need some extra motivation – here are some more ideas of where you rock those PJs too:
- For brunch with the girls – pair a blush pink shirt with your favourite blue jeans and nude gladiators.
- For the office – Turn heads in a boardroom, opt for a blazer kimono with tailored trousers and a dash of red lippie.
- For that hot date – a pair of silk black pyjamas teamed with a leather jacket and killer heels.
- For a day of retail therapy – Loose fitted PJ pants, clean white vest and platform sandals.
