Celebrating baby Arnold

What do you do when your doctor says, “you do know your baby could arrive at 36 weeks?“… You let the magic happen…

My sister-in-law and best friend panicked at the idea of throwing me a baby shower – because apparently I’m pretty difficult to throw an event for…But they pulled it off pretty well.

With the help of the vendors I always use, I knew they could make it happen. Following my signature style, I knew these two lovelies could make it happen.

The invite

And this is how it all went down.

The venue: my home

Because my baby shower needed to be moved up, we felt my home was the perfect location. It was warm, comfortable and intimate – everything that talks to me at this moment as I endure the last phase of my pregnancy.

The stationery: NutMeg Party Boxes

I once again turned to Meg from NutMeg Party Boxes to do my stationery. I opted for a no-fuss look and just chose bunting and menu cards. Of course she was accommodating as she was easy to work with.

The dress: HouseofQTure

As you know, I love supporting mommy entrepreneurs. When I saw a dress on her Insta account, I knew I had to have it in pink. Being my neighbour that lives down the road, made it so much easier for me logistically.

The cake: High Tea Tighty

Is there anyone better than Zaheera Musa of HighTea Tighty? She was so excited to be making something that celebrates me this time and I was excited to get to enjoy it.

The favours: Angel kisses

When I first got to work with Angel, she got my vision without hesitation. After tasting her biscuits, I knew I needed to work with her again for my baby shower. And the result – pure utter beauty.

The decor

Here I owe my thanks to Intrigued Events and Decor. She provided everything and without hesitation made it so easy to work with her. the grass table runner – and she has so many amazing things you can hire.

The food: Areej and her daughter, Iffat

So the week of my baby shower, the woman who was meant to do my catering, bailed. In panic, I asked around and remembered how amazing Areej is with catering. Without hesitation, she agreed to do it and I’m so happy I went with her. People couldn’t stop talking about the food as she did the starters, main course and some of the desserts and I can’t thank her enough.

The flowers: Carol

Carol came to my rescue again. She just asked me for my theme and said “I’ll deliver it to your home Saturday morning and you can add it to your jars“. No pictures were exchanged as I trusted and the result was exactly what I wanted.

The photographer: Shahied of Inspired Creative Works

If you find a vendor that speaks your love language, hold onto them as tight as you can. No event of mine, big or small, happens without him. I always tell him, I can’t imagine an event without him.

All in all it was beautifully perfect and I wouldn’t have had it any other way…
